Acute & Chronic Stress / feedback loops
Acute stress: is a short term of stress that happens a short amount of time.
AN EXAMPLE OF ACUTE STRESS IS WHEN YOU ARE WALKING BY AND SUDDENLY A DOG STARTS BARKING AT YOU.
Chronic stress: is a long term of stress that happens for a long period of time.
an example of chronic stress is when you live around a DANGEROUS and you always think that you are going to get shot.
The SIMILARITIES of acute and chronic stress are that they both hurt your body and that they stress you alot.
this is an example of acute stress this is an example of chronic stress
While in a Acute stress situation your body tells your brain what the stressor is and then after that your brain tells your medulla and hypothalamus to release cortisol and adrenaline so your body could remain in homeostasis.
A Acute stress feedback loop is negative because it only cycles for one round then stops.
(The picture below is a picture or diagram of the acute feedback loop.)

While in a Chronic stress situation your body tells your brain what the stressor is and then after that your brain tells your medulla and hypothalamus to release cortisol and adrenaline so your body could remain in homeostasis but for Chronic stress it keeps on cycling until you stop stressing.
A Chronic Stress feedback loop is positive because it keeps on cycling until you stop stressing.

The evolutionary behind the stress response is called the "fight or flight" response because in the past and the present we used to see an enemy so it was either fight him to survive or flight and leave him alone and try to survive hiding from him/her or it.
